iOS Engineer
Bucharest, Romania

I build apps that feel like instruments.

I work as an iOS engineer by day. On my own time I design, build and ship complete products, from the data model to the App Store listing. I'm also a guitarist, bassist and singer, so a lot of what I make is for people who make things.

Waning Gibbous in Scorpio

Drag through one cycle of the Moon, from Aries to Pisces

An iOS app for following the Moon through its phases, signs and void-of-course periods, with home and lock screen widgets and a built-in reference library. I took it from first sketch to the App Store on my own, and an Android version is on its way to Google Play.

  • Works fully offline and opens instantly, with no spinner for tonight's Moon
  • Sign changes and void-of-course periods to the exact minute
  • SwiftUI, SwiftData and WidgetKit, with a wiki of articles written for the app
  • Drew the app icon and all twelve zodiac signs myself in Inkscape
  • Handled the whole indie release myself, from App Store Connect to EU trader requirements
  • Promo videos generated from the app's real data

About

At work I'm on a team building a large, long-lived iOS app. I've worked intensively with both UIKit and SwiftUI, with Clean Architecture and MVVM. I take features from ticket to release, review my teammates' code, and recently prepared and ran a workshop on Swift concurrency for my colleagues.

Outside work I like owning the whole thing. Picking the algorithm, designing the screen, writing the store copy and answering the first support email are all part of the same job to me.

When I'm not at a keyboard I'm usually holding a bass or a guitar.

  • Swift / SwiftUI / UIKit
  • Swift Concurrency
  • Clean Architecture, MVVM
  • WidgetKit, SwiftData, AVAudioEngine
  • Kotlin Multiplatform
  • TypeScript, Angular, React
  • Postgres, Supabase
